Wordly Wise is an engaging vocabulary-building program designed for students in grades 1-12. It focuses on helping students improve their vocabulary in a systematic way. This course is widely used in home schools and classrooms across the United States.

Wordly Wise begins with basic words and simple activities progressing in difficulty to help your student acquire and use new words in academic settings, such as in reading, writing, and speaking. The curriculum is designed to be used independently by students of all ages, making it easy for homeschooling parents to use.

Does Wordly Wise allow my student to work on their own?

Wordly Wise will allow your student to work independently. Your child will be able to easily follow and enjoy each lesson while learning new academically focused vocabulary words. Access to Quizlet is also available for students to practice on their own.  

If I am using this curriculum, what will a day/lesson look like?

A typical day in Wordly Wise involves your student working through a set of vocabulary words and related exercises. The first lesson will introduce your student to the new list of words and definitions followed by an activity that uses those words. Throughout the week, short activities will be completed that begin with simple, multiple choice or fill in the blank type answers,  progressing towards higher level thinking activities in reading and writing. The daily lessons are short but focused, the perfect supplement to any language arts curriculum.

Wordly Wise includes a variety of assessment tools for you to use. Assessments include vocabulary tests, word-building exercises, and writing prompts. These assessments are designed to help students practice and apply what they have learned.
